Supported Independent Living (SIL) is support provided to NDIS participants who are eligible for funded support. The support is for daily living tasks in shared accommodation or in their own home.
Auscare can assist a person living with a disability with SIL in the following service categories:
An Individualised Living Option (ILO) is available through the NDIS, and Auscare can help you choose the home you live in and set up supports in the way that your prefer.
An ILO is a package of supports that can help you live how you want, whether it a shared accommodation, having like-minded room-mates, and carer who is on call or a 24/7 live-in carer.
Once you have decided which supports suit you best, the next step is begin putting those supports in place with dedicated funding via the NDIS. This is a great options to maintain your connection with others, address a safe and supported sense of home life, and ensure your independence is maintained.
Short Term Accommodation (STA) is support provided to NDIS participants who are eligible for funded support to live in a ‘home away from home’ for people wanting a break from their normal residence.

Recently the NDIS offered a new type of accommodation called Medium Term Accommodation (MTA). This type of transitional housing offers supports for those clients who are in-between homes, or waiting to move into a more permanent support accommodation home.
Auscare can assist you obtaining the funding through the NDIS to bridge a interim term of times, and avoid younger people going into Ages Care facilities, or those recently out of hospital.
